Buzzard seen briefly from car over field to North of A127. This bird was being mobbed by a crow. The wings were held higher than a Common Buzzard and the plumage was lighter than usual. Gary Dunn.

Light Drizzle clearing revealing what appears to be good numbers of passerines 'downed' by the overnight rain. 1 Grasshopper Warbler (not seen but reeling on and off opposite 2nd hide overlooking fleet in suitable scrubby looking habitat at 12.15 just as rain clearing), Numerous Common Whitethroat (6 seen, several more heard singing), 3 singing male Blackcap, 5+ Reed Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler (heard), 3 male Bearded Tit showing superbly right outside main hide windows along with Reed Warbler, 3+ Cetti's Warblers singing. Around the park today a couple of Willow Warblers are probably new arrivals. 3 or 4 Blackcaps singing along with a few Chiffchaff, Early evening saw 12 Swallow, 5 Sand Martin and 1 House Martin passing through, otherwise pretty quite. Alan Shearman, South Essex Community Project Officer.RSPB
