1 Barn Owl perched on old concrete post near creek opposite model plane airfield. It was a very nice rare (for me) sighting. What was curious was it's acceptance of me getting quite close (it heard me, looked straight at me then ignored me). Also it had a black strap around each leg, held possibly by a press stud? With this and it's indifference to people, could it be an escapee from a falconry display group? MXB.

Seal Trip Aboard the Lady Essex III, River Roach 11.00 - 13.00
Asounding views of a female Peregrine Falcon. This bird caught a Wood Pigeon just in front of our boat (see location on map). At first she sat on the east bank of the river but as we got closer carried her prey, with some difficulty, over to the west bank (on Potton). She then proceed to enjoy her dinner with us not 20 feet away! Also: 1 Kestrel, 27 Little Egret, c.80 Ringed Plover, 18 Swallow, 3 Black-tailed Godwit. 20 Common Seal. Web Author.
