1 Cuckoo, 15 Black-Tailed Godwit, 8 Avocet, 2 Redshank, 3 Common Tern, 3 Reed Bunting, 4 Reed Warbler (singing), 3 Bearded Tit, 4 Goldfinch, 1 pair of Mute Swan with nine cygnets, 4 Shelduck, 3 Lapwing, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 25 + Swallow, 1 Marsh Harrier which made two kills, both were some kind of small bird. 14 Avocet, Bearded Tit heard on west side of Manorway Fleet, one pair of Cuckoo and another bird at Coryton, 1 Lesser Whitethroat seen well by Manorway reed bed and another heard, a few Cetti's Warbler heard (Coryton), 2 Little Egret, 2 pairs of Oystercatcher at creek/lagoon, 1 Cormorant on Manorway Fleet, 1 Corn Bunting singing west of track and barns. 1 Painted Lady. 2 Mute Cygnets not on water (believed to have died). Pen and cob seem lost and pen seen going back on nest whilst calling. Cannot see the top of nest site clearly through reeds because of high winds. Robert Dobinson.

1 immature Hobby on west border fence, 3 Avocet on lagoon, pair of Tufted Duck and 1 Pochard on Manorway Fleet (the latter bird flew up out of reeds when the other two came near), c.7 House Martin passed through, 1 Cuckoo heard at Manorway Fleet, a few Cetti's Warbler heard including two very close by Manorway reed bed, 2 Little Egret, 2 Corn Bunting singing (one at Coryton), pair of Oystercatcher on creek, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Sparrowhawk. Southchurch Park East and Southchurch Park
1 Mute Swan Cygnet died overnight. It didn't look too well on the water at 8pm last night, seemed to be feeling cold and trying to stay close to the Pen swan. It could be seen this morning at the base of the nest/waterline. S.E Park. 6 Coot chicks hatched and active on the north ramp nest area, many Goldfinch heard calling across trees, count up from last year by a large amount. Southchurch Pk. 100's of House Martin, Swallow, Swift feeding over water at all heights in both parks, more insects visible for them to eat then previous years. Robert Dobinson.
