Southchurch Park East
The three Cygnets from Southchurch Park were relocated to Hullbridge on Friday afternoon by our team. We had no choice in the matter as the Southchurch East pair had regained their territory and beat off the cygnet's parents. They then set about the cygnets, that hadn't fledged. One had already had most of its tail feathers pulled out and they were getting unduly stressed and a daylight to dusk watch was impossible to maintain. So with advice from the RSPCA and Sue Morgan (Salcott Swan sanctuary), its was decided that Hullbridge was the ideal place. It has 120+ Swans/Cygnets there, all regularly monitored and fed by a few locals. On a Sunday visit by some of the team, the three seem to have settled in. Bob.
