A morning spent in the garden produced: 8 Goldfinch, 4 House Martin, 2 Swallow, 3 Jay (together), 30 Rook and about 30 Jackdaw circling together - quite unusual here. Almost non-stop westward movement of Woodpigeon, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Buzzard at about 14.20 circling and soaring to extreme height. David Selley.

1 Kestrel (female), 1 Sparrowhawk (male), 2 Green Woodpecker (1 ad. + juv.), 1 Wren (singing), 1 Bullfinch (male), 6 Goldfinch (mixed flock), 2 Chaffinch, Great/Blue Tits, 1 Little Owl (very close to Chapel Lane entrance). Terry Priest RSPB.
Wallasea Wetlands 13.00 - 15.30
Mostly around car park: 70 Ringed Plover, 10 Dunlin, 1 Little Stint (adult), 33 Avocet, 42 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Curlew. Many birds seem to have left to roost early on the fields due to highish tide and only an hour after tide did I have about 150 mixed ringed Plover and Dunlin fly back in. 6 Yellow Wagtail (4 juvs.), 1 Wheatear (juv.) Jeff Delve (EBS).
