Our work is driven by a passionate belief
that birds and wildlife enrich our lives
Why are we starting a 100 Club?
To raise money locally for the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds). It is also a good way for RSPB members and the local community to get involved with local Group activities. With two prizes drawn each month, every number has 24 opportunities to win a prize throughout the year.
What is a 100 Club?
100 numbers are entered into a monthly draw where two numbers are drawn each month. Participants are charged £1 per month per number to enter the draw. Half the total income goes towards prizes, and half goes towards RSPB conservation projects. Participants are allocated a unique number which they retain throughout the year.
How much can I win?
Two numbers will be drawn every month and for eleven months you will have the chance to win a prize of either £10 or £20. However, in December the prize money is increased and you have the chance to win four or five prizes with the top prize being £100.
Who can join?
We need to sell 100 numbers to make this work. Anyone can join, and you can buy as many tickets as you like. Tell as many people as you can and please spread the word among friends, family and colleagues.
What do I need to do to join?
Contact Ron Hodgson, 20 Waterford Road, Shoeburyness, Essex SS3 9HH. Once your remittance has been received you will receive a 100 Club membership booklet. If you need help filling in this form or wish further information please phone Ron on 01702 292007. You can either hand it in along with your remittance at the next Evening Meeting or post it. Once have received your remittance you will receive your membership booklet, which is a legal document (required as a condition of our licence) containing the rules of the 100 Club, your name and address and your unique membership number(s).
When do I need to join by?
You can join at any time.
How do I pay?
By cash or cheque. A one off joining fee of £2 is payable when each member first joins. This is to cover start up costs such as printing and registration fees (we have to pay to register with our local Authority). if annual costs rise we may have to charge a small annual administration fee at a later date. Therefore each member's first number will cost £14, with all subsequent numbers costing £12 each.
How do I know if I have won?
Winners will be announced at the South East Essex RSPB Evening Meetings, or notified by letter if they are not present at the draw, or if there is not an evening meeting in that month.
