Barling Gravel Pits

The short walk around Barling Gravel Pits will reward you with some of the best birding habitat in this quiet part of Essex. The walk will encompass sea wall, meadow, scrub, reed beds and flooded lakes. The spot is ideal for summer migrants such as Whitethroat, Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler.

Directions

Follow signs to Great Wakering, on entering Wakering take the first left at the mini-roundabout down the Little Wakering road.
