Eastwood Sewage Farm

Eastwood Sewage Farm may, at first glance,  seem a strange choice to have on our birding list of the area. However, the farm has, in the past, seen its fair share of rare and hard to find birds. This is mainly due to a number of factors. Firstly, the farm itself is surrounded by some wonderful mixed wood habitat. Secondly, the farm in winter, due to the proximity of the tanks, attracts a lot of different birds due to the warmth provided and the food available.

The main car park a short walk from the farm

Species to look out for in the area (mainly in winter) include:

Green Woodpecker
Great Spotted Woodpecker
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker
Grey Wagtail
Pied Wagtail
Wren
Redwing
Fieldfare
Chiffchaff
Goldcrest
Nuthatch
Treecreeper
Bullfinch
